About us

Care, protection, vital energy.

A social cooperative born to bring healthcare expertise wherever it's needed — with method and with heart.

Amaltea Social Cooperative has operated for over a decade in the national healthcare landscape, with a mission dedicated to supporting Italian public hospital facilities. Born from the need for qualified coordination between demand for healthcare personnel and availability of specialised professionals, Amaltea has progressively established itself as a trusted partner for ASLs, hospital companies and healthcare units across the country.

The name Amaltea, inspired by the mythological figure of the goat who nursed Zeus, represents the care, protection and vital energy at the heart of our daily mission.

The cornucopia — the "horn of plenty" that, according to myth, broke off from Amaltea's horns — has become a universal symbol of generosity, prosperity and continuous giving. For us it is the metaphor of an organisation able to deliver, consistently and reliably, the professional resources the healthcare system needs.

We operate across three lines of action — hospital healthcare services, communities for minors and medical transport — coordinating over 150 professionals including specialist doctors, nurses, educators and social-healthcare operators. All our activities are governed by systems certified to international standards and by an organisational culture that puts the person — both the cared-for and the caregiver — first.

Mission and values

Four non-negotiable principles.

01

Professionalism

Every professional joining the Amaltea network is selected with strict criteria: qualifications, clinical experience, references and suitability interviews. We maintain continuous training standards and periodic internal audits.

02

Solidarity

As a social cooperative, part of our work is directed at vulnerable people: minors in difficult family situations, patients requiring medical transport, communities under healthcare strain.

03

Nationwide coverage

We operate across multiple Italian regions, with modular procedures adaptable to the regulatory and organisational context of each hospital facility. A logistical and administrative network designed to scale.

04

Reliability

Across all our collaborations with the national health system we record zero formal disputes and zero service interruptions. A figure that speaks louder than a thousand promises.
